Our Spotlight Vinyard: Merryvale Vineyards and Starmont Winery
Owned and operated by the Schlatter family, Merryvale Vineyards and Starmont Winery have a deep respect for Napa's winemaking legacy and a dynamic vision for its future. The Schlatters became sole owners of Merryvale in 1996 and completed Starmont in 2006. Since 2008, Rene Schlatter has served as president & CEO, working closely with Winemaker Andrew Wright to focus on classic Bordeaux varieties, for which Napa is renowned.
Merryvale produces 75 wines under several labels, emphasising sustainable and intensive vine-by-vine practices. This approach ensures each block produces a distinct lot of wine that is unique, complete, and representative of the terroir, while also promoting good stewardship of the land for future generations.
