Rhône Valley at Our London Wine Bars

What are the odds that your next favourite wine will come from the illustrious Rhône Valley? Quite high, actually! This June, our London Wine Bars shine a spotlight on the exceptional wines of the Rhône Valley, featuring the remarkable work of winemaker Romain Decelle from Domaine de Boisseyt.

The Rhône Valley, France's second-largest wine region, boasts a winemaking heritage that spans over two millennia. At our upcoming events this month in out London restaurants, you'll have the opportunity to savour a range of exquisite wines, including the iconic Domaine de Boisseyt Condrieu 'Les Corbonnes' 2021 and the Domaine de Boisseyt Côte-Rôtie 'Côte Blonde' 2020.

A Legacy of Excellence: Domaine de Boisseyt

The history of Domaine de Boisseyt dates back to the 14th century, with its first mention as 'Viniblio de Boissie' in 1343. The estate as we know it today was formally established after the French Revolution in 1797. For six generations, the Chol family nurtured this legacy, passing it on to the Decelle family.

Romain Decelle, the current steward of Domaine de Boisseyt, is on a mission to convert the entire estate to organic viticulture. His dedication to sustainability and quality aims to re-establish Domaine de Boisseyt as a premier Northern Rhône producer alongside giants like Guigal and Chapoutier.

With an annual production of 5,000 cases from 24 acres of prestigious vineyards in Côte-Rotie, Condrieu, St-Joseph, and Vin de Pays, Domaine de Boisseyt is synonymous with excellence. The estate is deeply committed to traditional methods while embracing modern sustainability practices.

A journey from rugged slopes to delicate aromas, culminating in a mineral crescendo. This cuvée embodies the essence of its terroir with finesse and elegance. Condrieu is an original wine which presents a fabulous aromatic diversity , and a colourful colour which becomes golden with age.

A historic vineyard, resembling an ancient amphitheater, planted in 1934 with 95% Serine and 5% Viognier. Its dramatic terraces, mineral-rich soil, and meticulous winemaking yield a wine of intense complexity and elegance, with vibrant fruit, silky tannins, and a remarkable finish.
