How to Host the Perfect Wine Tasting for your Guests

Step One: Call Humble Grape.

A wine tasting with Humble Grape is whatever you want it to be; whether that’s a classy opening act for your clients, an introduction to the delights of corporate finery, or simply the start of countless office tales to be shared over the coffee machine on Monday morning.

Offering not one or two but six glasses per guest, our wine tasting events are light-hearted and fun, inviting you and your guests to take the pressure off business talk and focus on something we can all agree on – the enjoyment that comes with a great glass of wine.

Here’s how it goes.

A wine tasting – Humble Grape Style

With five high end locations around London, we not only offer a great experience but also plenty of choice and individuality across each and every event. Our inhouse Wine Expert, Desiree, can offer you everything from a sit down and more formally led wine tasting evening, to an interactive event with mingling and a variety of wine stations which your guests can enjoy at leisure. Each of our five locations supports a different style of event, whether it be the hallowed arches of our Fleet Street bar or the light and bright surroundings of our Islington site – so whatever vision you have in your head, we will help you bring to life – and we might even throw a few extra goodies in too!

On top of delivering a high quality setting for you and your clients, all of our wine experts are WSET certified – which in layman’s terms means that they deliver the information and sensory experiences that people want, rather than simply throwing fragrant language at them with every sip. After all, who wants to be told that their glass of wine is embodied with fruity hues and smoky BBQs, when you could simply be told where the wine comes from and what kinds of foods it is best paired with?

Taking it to the next level

Each of our wine tasting experiences typically lasts between 90 minutes and two hours, however every event is completely tailored to your preferences and so we welcome you to provide an itinerary which works for you and your end goal. Some previous wine tasting events we have supported have seen different wine broken up with canape and bowl food courses; or you can choose to start your evening with the full tasting experience and then settle into mingling and networking once your clients are a few glasses down.

They say that wine is a passport to the world. And whether you’re looking to woo, impress, or simply connect with clients outside of a corporate setting, what better way to do so than with a shared love of pressed grapes and a fine wine glass? Because that’s really where it all started – with a humble grape.

Top Humble Grape Tip

Bringing a large group together? Consider an interactive event that uses branded wine labels and invites guests to engage in a selection of tasting challenges – for example, ranking each glass dependent on how much they believe the bottle is worth. This is a fun and unique way of getting your brand in the face of your guests and turning the spotlight completely onto the wine; treating your guests to something they will remember for weeks and months to come.
