Unveiling the Magic of Veneto’s Vineyards

Our shelves, both in our London wine bars and restaurants and virtually via our online wine shop, are bustling with over 450 sustainable wines, all imported directly from our “Hero Producers”. We've scoured the corners of the Earth to bring you wines from these legends who run small-production, family-run, organic vineyards.

These boutique producers are the heart of the Humble Grape family – and what we love most about our growing family is the different countries and regions they all hail from.

Each month, we celebrate a different wine region in our World of Wine series, showcasing some of its finest wines, and amazing producers through our monthly wine tasting events, special flights, and specials on our food menu. Imagine this: you, a glass of fine wine, and a WSET wine expert as your guide through the vineyard wonderland. In our monthly tastings, our experts spill the beans on what makes each wine so darn good. It's like a wine education, but with a splash of fun.

World of Wine: Veneto

This month – we’re focusing on the wonderful world of Veneto. Home to Italy’s beloved cities of Venice and Verona, Veneto is a region in the northeast that boasts the epic title of producing the most wine in the country. The region represents a transition between the alpine, Germano-Slavic end of Italy and the warmer, drier, more Roman lands to the south, offering a uniqueness to its wine.

Veneto is a masterpiece of grape varieties, each bringing its own unique taste. The reigning diva of the vineyards is Garganega, the grape responsible for the crisp and floral notes in the famous Soave wine. As you take a trip through the sprawling vineyards, you’ll encounter the spirited Corvina grape, starring in the robust reds of Valpolicella and the celebrated Amarone. The charming duo of Rondinella and Molinara joins the ensemble to create a harmonious blend.

And no journey through Veneto would be complete without a visit to the sparkling world of Prosecco. The rolling hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene are the birthplace of this effervescent delight. As all sparkling lovers know, Prosecco is not just a beverage; it's a celebration encapsulated in every fizz.

A vinous voyage through Veneto lets you explore the region's charming wine roads. Wind through the picturesque landscapes, stopping at family-owned vineyards and rustic trattorias. The locals, with their warm hospitality, are eager to share their love for wine, pairing it with delectable regional cuisines. On our food menu this month we’ve got two specials that will whisk you right to the heart of Italy: Baccala Mantecato, salt cod pate with grilled polenta, and Risi e Bisi, risotto, peas, parmesan and prosciutto.

In our January three-hour London wine tasting, our expert sommeliers will chat you through seven of Veneto’s wines, as you sip on some liquid gold. Tickets have sold fast, so you only have one chance left to join the journey. Snap up tickets to our Liverpool Street tasting here.
